What’s your favorite place you’ve ever visited?

I felt most accomplished to get to Machu Picchu. The 4-day hike in the Andes along the Inca Trail was a great family bonding experience and an awesome way to un-plug and appreciate life.

If you could pick up a new skill in an instant what would it be?

Preeminent Negotiator. If I could instantly negotiate contracts, deals, conflicts, projects, etc. to everyone’s satisfaction, life would be grand. 🙂

What was the oddest job you ever received money for?

I have had multiple eating/drinking dares that have resulted in payment, but I’m not sure those count and some of the details are hard to remember. I did get paid for delivering over 900 individual phone books as part of a fund raiser for my kids.

Nick brings over twelve years of hands-on experience in IT to the fore.

As a strong proponent of servant leadership, he pushes for empowerment by providing direction and letting professionals draw the map. As a consultant, he’d been called a ‘hired gun’ for coming in to help unblock the road where IT teams had been stuck on complex issues. He strives for positive impact both in and out of the office, finding great joy in volunteering and giving to those who go without.

What’s your favorite place you’ve ever visited?

One of my greatest adventures was in Italy when I explored the ruins of Pompeii under the looming shadow of the active volcano Mount Vesuvius!

Best advice you’ve ever heard?

From my father when I was young, he told me “the helping hand is at the end of your own arm”. That inspires and motivates me to this day. If you want anything in life, it takes personal sacrifice.

Flying. It’s just always seemed fun.

What was the oddest job you ever received money for?

In high school, I took a trip to Hawaii to visit family. While I was there I ended up cleaning the neighbors’ pool every morning. It was the only vacation I have taken where I came back with more money than I left with.

Long compilation times, a high learning curve, and lack of interactivity via repl-like tooling have been major reasons for putting off learning that skill, so picking it up in an instant would be convenient.
